DCA congratulates the 2008
20th Annual
Salute to Excellence Honorees
The Salute to
Excellence Awards are meant to honor individuals who have
contributed to the quality of life downriver. Several
nominations were considered this year. This year's honorees
include a cross-section of individuals and groups who have made a mark in our
communities in the areas of cultural and community service.
These are not popularity awards, but exemplify a lifetime of works
dedicated to the principles of community service.
Rob
Bovitz
Performer, community activist and business leader, Rob has
provided continuous service to many non-profit arts and cultural organizations throughout
Downriver.
Bruce
Haberkern
Community
activist and art supporter, Bruce is honored for his work on behalf of the
Southern Great Lakes Symphony, and other arts and cultural organizations.
Judy
Nelms
Artist, art
supporter
and community business leader, Judy has contributed to the enhancement
of the quality of life Downriver through her support of the visual
arts.
Robert
Toon
Community
business leader and art supporter, Bob is dedicated to providing continued
service, support and encouragement to Downriver cultural organizations.
