Exploring Art - 02/2024

Thursdays from 5:00pm-6:00pm

4 Weeks: Feb. 22 - Mar. 14, 2024

This is an exciting exploratory fine art class incorporating a variety of mediums, art terminology, history and design. Students will work on different projects focusing on a number of mediums, such as painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpting and more. Artworks will be brought home as they are completed. All supplies are provided, just come dressed to get creative! If you’ve taken this class before, projects are different in each session.

Instructor: MacKenzie McMahan
Cost: $50
Suggested ages: 6-10. Open to all skill levels.

DCA Instructor, MacKenzie McMahan has been involved with the DCA since exhibiting in her first high school art show and served on the DCA Youth Arts Council where she played a part in organizing a teen open mic night and art exhibit. She is a first year social studies teacher who enjoys teaching, learning, and art! In her free time she uses her creativity to remodel her home, paint, photograph, and craft. Though she teaches big kids during the day, she’s super excited to watch the littles be creative and see art through their eyes.

Registration available online, in person or over the phone. Deadline to register is two days before class.

If you have allergies and can’t control sneezing, and cough please stay home. If you have been exposed or if you show signs of Covid-19, please stay home. If you miss a class, we will work with you on getting the instructions home to students, or possibly have an online option. If class is cancelled by the DCA or Executive Orders, we will refund your remaining classes.
