2019 Holiday Indie Art Fair - Artist Vendor Info

CALL FOR VENDORS: DEADLINE TO APPLY IS OCTOBER 25, 2019

The Downriver Council for the Arts (DCA) is accepting vendor applications for our Holiday Indie Art Fair. Admission and parking are free to the public. Since the DCA is a non-profit, all money raised from events like this is put directly into our programming and operating. We wish to remain true to our mission of supporting and promoting artists in the community!

Limited space available, so please get your applications in early.

VENDOR GUIDELINES

• Vendors are selected based on quality, originality, uniqueness and the price point of their wares. We will do our best to ensure a diverse group of vendors will be showcased. Previous year’s vendors are not automatically accepted. If you are returning, please try to include photos of new or different products.  We’re seeking the best individuals who are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in DIY handcrafted goods. The DCA wishes to showcase the work of independent artisans — to provide a unique, high quality, hand-crafted alternative to “big box” stores and mass produced goods. Vendors must be 15 years or older. Applications will only be accepted online.

• 1 spot DCA member = $30 / 1 spot Non-member = $35 / Electrical = $5 / There is no fee to submit an application.

• 2 chairs are included with your spot (more available if requested). Tables are not provided, you must bring your own tables/displays. Vendors may choose to set up without the table, but you must stay within the designated and assigned space. You must bring your own tables/displays to fill an approximate 5x8 space. 2 chairs will be provided upon request.

• There are a very limited number of “double spots” and will be reviewed on a per request basis. Please indicate that you are interested in 2 spots on your application. We will email you with notification if a second spot is available.

• Vendors are allowed to split a table. To apply with a partner, fill out an application for both vendors, indicating which business you are sharing with in the space provided. Include information and photos from all businesses.

• Limited electrical outlets (at an extra cost) are available in some spots on a first request basis.

• Vendors will be set up in the theatre on the third floor, where the light is dimmer than in other parts of the building. You are more than welcome to bring battery operated lighting for your space or lamps/extension cords.

• You are responsible for conducting all sales transactions. You are responsible for registering your small business with the IRS and collecting sales tax (if applicable) for the items you’re selling.

EVENT INFO

• There will be other events in the building that night, so we expect a big crowd. The main floor gallery will have an opening reception for Testing the Waters art exhibit. DCA Resident Artists will have open studios as well.

• There will be music during the event.

• Set-up time is 2pm-4pm on Friday, November 15. The event goes from 4-9pm. Load out is Friday night after the event, you can begin to tear down or stay open later depending on how the night and guest traffic is going.

• We have a handicapped/elevator entrance located off the alley. You are welcome to briefly park your car next to the building and unload your items, then move your car to a parking area. Please do not block the alley.
