Keeping safe - Updated for 2022
Please understand that even if restrictions are lifted or changed, the DCA is reacting in the best way we can and with our small staff and limited capabilities.
We are taking rental requests.
We are working on bringing back in-person classes, but please understand they are contingent on instructors' willingness to teach. If you are an instructor and would like share your talent with adults or children, please contact us!
We will continue to provide curbside assistance when requested.
We are sanitizing and disinfecting more frequently. Hand sanitizer is available in public places throughout the building.
We are asking all users of the arts center to follow safe social distancing measures. We have moved seating and tables farther apart for this purpose.
Parents please drop off and pick up your children outside when possible to cut down on people traffic in the building.
If you need to contact a staff member, please email us at dc4arts@downriverarts.org and we will get back with you as soon as we can. Please note that phone calls may take longer to return.
Thank you for your understanding and keeping our community safe!
Other info, especially when signing up for classes:
Adults are welcome to stay at the arts center during class time, but we request that you not participate in the class. Please be mindful that (especially during covid restricted times) we have a limited number of bodies allowed in a space. Also, our instructors are there to teach the children, and adults may be distracting to the group. Feel free to roam the building, visit our main floor gallery, lounge in the hallway, explore the auditorium or create art. Wifi is available as well as spaces for you to work.
It is the guardian’s/student’s responsibility to stay home if you are sick. If you have a fever, stay home. If someone in your house is sick, stay home. If you have allergies and can’t control sneezing, and cough please stay home. If you have been exposed or if you show signs of Covid-19, please stay home. If you miss a class, we will work with you on getting the instructions home to students, or possibly have an online option. If class is cancelled by the DCA or Executive Orders, we will refund your remaining classes.
Maintain social distancing from person-to-person at all times. Facemasks are encouraged at the present time of publishing this event, however could be required if executive orders mandate them. Hand sanitizer is available for immediate use at the front entrance and entrance into each of our common areas. Parents please drop off and pick up your children outside when possible.
All students will be requested to use hand sanitizer as they enter the classroom common area. Please wash hands with soap and water for at least 30 seconds after touching metal surfaces, sneezing, coughing, blowing your nose or using the restroom. In the case of being diagnosed with Covid-19 or show symptoms, immediately notify the DCA by email at dc4arts@downriverarts.org.
By registering for this class, you are agreeing to the terms listed above.
