Clifton Crockatt is an emerging Abstract Artist in the Detroit Metro Area. Sensing a profound void in his life in his retirement years, Clifton turned to expression through visual arts to express his notions and meditations on life and life interactions in a fractured social environment. In his own words, his art is meant as an invitation to enjoy the interplay of color, geometrics and color juxtaposition; invite the viewer to absorb and interpret as they wish; to meditate and reflect in a ‘safe space’; and offer a respite from the rigors and challenges of everyday life and longings. Clifton’s artwork is primarily done on wrapped canvas with acrylic inks applied with a ‘Dip Pen’ circa 1850’s technology. Occasional use of acrylics paints compliment some of his paintings. His original artwork is professionally digitized to offer archival quality replications (Giclee) on both wrapped canvas and fine art papers.
Clifton’s artwork is displayed in several commercial spaces, including Walmart, an activity he is dedicated to; Hamtramck arts Festival 2022, Dance pavilion 2022 Ypsilanti, Mi, Artistonish Magazine and online exhibition 2022 along with several other international arts magazines and their online group exhibitions. He will participate in Art Basel Switzerland 2023 and several other venues with Art Boxy throughout 2023.
