‘Tis the season for spreading holiday cheer!

When shopping for loved ones this year, please remember the Downriver Council for the Arts (DCA), and give the gift that gives back.

For more than 40 years, the DCA has been advancing its mission to enrich the quality of life in the Downriver area by advocating for local artists, their work and providing residents of our close-knit community with opportunities to participate in cultural activities. Over the years, our mission has never changed - but our needs have. That’s why we need your support now, more than ever.

We envision the JAMES R. DESANA CENTER FOR ARTS & CULTURE at 81 Chestnut, our historic Wyandotte home, as the meeting place where residents of all 21 Downriver communities can connect and create. Our gallery will continue to be the go-to place for local artists ready to share their talents with the world; our auditorium will attract up-and-coming musicians and event planners; and our private studios will be a place where visionaries bring abstract ideas to life.

At the DCA, our future is bright – and it includes you!

We’ve enlisted the expertise of a renowned architect, and can’t wait to unveil floor plans for 81 Chestnut during our public board meeting and community celebration on December 8 at 5pm . Join us for our year-end meeting, stroll our complimentary opening reception and exhibit, enjoy refreshments and get to know neighbors and friends of the DCA.

Our programs thrive because of community support, and there are plenty of ways to give. Please consider:
· Gifting a DCA annual membership to a loved one
· Purchasing holiday presents from our gift shop of unique, handcrafted items
· Hosting a fundraising event at the DCA for your favorite organization
· Serving the DCA and its members on the Board of Directors, or
· Making a tax-deductible donation

You can also purchase memberships or make donations safely online.

As we look to 2023 and beyond, we are excited about the opportunities ahead, and eager to share our journey with you. We hope to see you on December 8th during our community celebration and thank you in advance for your support!
