Chamber Artists of Southeast Michigan
Chamber Artists of Southeast Michigan (CASM) are back to perform at the Downriver Council for the Arts!
After a tenuous few years, CASM will finally be making a return to our home: the Downriver Council for the Arts.
Friday, August 19th at 7pm!
Thanks to a generous donor, this concert will be FREE! We will be accepting good will donations to be split between us and the DCA at the door if you'd like to still give something.
We hope to see you there for our Flute and Harp Recital featuring CASM artists Brandon LePage and Rachel Miller playing music by composers from around the world including the Michigan Premiere of H. Leslie Adams' piece "Night Song for Flute and Harp".
While they were students together at Michigan State University in 2005, harpist Rachel Miller asked flutist Brandon LePage to collaborate on a piece for her Sophomore recital. Little did they know that this partnership would bloom into an over ten year friendship (still going strong) that has yielded many fabulous collaborations! This summer they are once again coming together to perform a recital of music from all around the world including Japanese Folk Songs, Argentinian Tango, and a never before performed work titled "Night Song" by the American composer H. Leslie Adams. Join us for a journey exploring various cultures as we wind our way around the world through music.
Rachel Miller currently serves as the Principal Harpist for the Kalamazoo and Southwest Michigan Symphonies. She is an Associate Musician with the Columbus Symphony and regular substitute with both the Detroit and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestras.
Brandon LePage is an Applied Instructor of Flute at Oakland University and also performs as Principal Flute with the Flint Symphony and Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra. He served as Principal Flute for the Columbus Symphony for a portion of the 2018/2019 season and has performed frequently with the Detroit and Milwaukee Symphonies.
