The Art of Knitting for adults and children
Wednesdays
4 Weeks: January 10, 17, 24, 31, 2024
Introduction to Knitting – 4:00-5:15pm – Youth ages 8-13. Learn cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch, bind off, create a simple project.
Beginning Knitting/Knitting Refresher – 5:30-6:45pm – Adults 14+. Learn/review cast on, basic stitches knit and purl, read a pattern, change colors, graft pieces together, bind off. Create a “Cross-Over Cowl” in two colors.
Intermediate Knitting – 7:00-8:30pm – Adults 14+. Create a “boomerang scarf” and/or fingerless mitts from patterns provided, or bring a pattern (and the supplies the pattern specifies) that you would like to create.

Cost: $30 per class (pre-register/pay in advance)
Supplies to bring: Listed below. We’ll also have items to sample at the DCA.
Youth: Materials provided.
Adult: Two skeins of “worsted weight” (#4) in your choice of contrasting colors or different shades of the same color, knitting needles, size US 8 or 10. (optional: scissors, stitch marker(s) tape measure)
Intermediate: Same as above (adult). Pattern choice will be offered for you to create a project.
