The Downriver Council for the Arts (DCA) invites artists to submit work to the 1st Annual DCA Artscape Exhibition. Artscape will showcase the natural beauty inherent in the 21 Downriver communities, and will promote the idea that there is 'No Place Like Local'.
Applicants working in the artistic genre of Landscape Drawing and Painting are encouraged to submit work capturing their favorite places in Southeast Michigan. Artwork should depict natural scenery, although it may include man-made structures, animals or people.
Artists may enter artwork completed in their favorite drawing or painting media including, but not limited to the following: acrylics, charcoal, gouache, ink, oils, pencil, pastels, tempera, and watercolor.
Entries may Include works done in-studio using photo reference and/or artwork done on-site. Artwork created on-site are also known as En Plein Air, a French term meaning “in the open air”
